What it’s for
- Understanding the indoor environment
Using sensors to follow selected pollutants and environmental conditions in a room.
Purpose, evidence and practical considerations.
Consumer monitors can identify trends and prompt investigation. Their readings are not medical diagnoses, and a model must be validated for the pollutant and purpose being considered.
Confidence: weak
A consumer monitor is not a replacement for a certified smoke, carbon-monoxide or other required safety alarm. A normal reading cannot rule out pollutants the device does not measure.
Sensors estimate particular variables such as particles, CO₂, temperature or humidity. Capabilities and accuracy depend on the model and placement.
How people use it, with their schedules, context and original sources.

These share a protocol with this intervention. This does not establish that they work together or are suitable alternatives.
