The circadian mechanism for reducing evening melanopic light is well established, but clinical sleep effects from particular consumer filters or colours are small and inconsistent. Environment-wide dimming is plausible, not a guaranteed insomnia treatment.

Dim light can increase fall and task-safety risk; retain enough illumination for safe movement. Persistent insomnia or circadian disorders warrant assessment rather than reliance on bulb colour alone.
