Avoiding excessive bedroom heat is biologically and observationally sensible. Evidence does not support one universal 65–68°F target, and trials of active bedding cooling have not consistently improved objective sleep outcomes.

Avoid unsafe cold, especially for infants, frail adults or people with impaired thermoregulation. Shivering, discomfort or numbness indicates excessive cooling; room-temperature targets are not universal prescriptions.
