This is a bed-temperature product, not a room thermostat or a substitute for assessment of a sleep disorder. Device estimates and perceived comfort are different from clinical sleep measurements.
A short company-linked study reported changes in selected sleep and cardiovascular measures when Pod temperature control was switched on. Its before-and-after design, brief exposure and commercial involvement limit causal conclusions and claims about long-term health.

Device-specific issues include thermal discomfort, leaks, noise, electrical safety, subscription dependence, and inaccurate interpretation of consumer sleep-stage estimates.
Eight Sleep’s Pod combines a mattress cover with temperature-control hardware and software. Hardware generation, temperature settings and measured outcomes matter when reading a study; a result for one Pod version is not validation of every later feature.
