A plant extract promoted for testosterone and libido.
Purpose, evidence and practical considerations.
The cited research is in rats, including findings of adverse testicular effects. It does not establish an effective or safe human supplement regimen.
Confidence: unsupported
No adequate human safety trials exist. Rat studies using the same dose range promoted for hormonal effects reported testicular damage, impaired sperm indices, liver and kidney membrane injury and oxidative stress; commercial identity and standardization are also unreliable.
Claims that Fadogia raises luteinizing hormone or testosterone come from unstandardized aqueous stem extracts in rats. No validated human mechanism, pharmacokinetic profile or effective dose has been established.
Regulatory status: dietary supplement
