What it’s for
- Investigated for conditioning and selected clinical rehabilitation settings
Supervised sessions alternating lower-oxygen and higher-oxygen breathing mixtures at normal atmospheric pressure.
Purpose, evidence and practical considerations.
Small controlled studies report selected fitness and metabolic changes, often in older clinical populations. Protocols vary and do not establish longevity benefits or equivalence to exercise or hyperbaric oxygen.
Confidence: weak
Low oxygen can cause dizziness, fainting and cardiovascular stress. Requires appropriate assessment, monitoring and trained supervision; do not reproduce it with breath holding or improvised gas equipment.
Changing inspired oxygen is intended to trigger adaptation to intermittent hypoxia. A proposed adaptation is not proof of rejuvenation or improved clinical outcomes.

Session and schedule patterns reported in public protocols; these are observations, not instructions. Private and hidden usage is excluded.
Brand variants reported in public protocols. Private entries are excluded, and inclusion is not an endorsement.
These share a protocol with this intervention. This does not establish that they work together or are suitable alternatives.
