Professor of genetics and aging researcher
David A. Sinclair, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School whose laboratory studies the biology of aging. His public protocol is a dated record of personal experiments and prescriptions discussed on podcasts, not clinical guidance or proof that the same interventions extend human lifespan.
Not managed by David SinclairClaim profile
Sinclair described an older metformin routine on his January 2022 podcast, then said in July 2026 that stomach sensitivity had led to intermittent pauses and that he was returning to slow-release metformin at 1 g daily. This is a dated account of a prescription used under medical supervision, not advice to use metformin for longevity.

Sinclair’s own January 2022 podcast gives older exact amounts for morning NMN and resveratrol and corrects an on-air spermidine unit error.
Sinclair’s own January 2022 podcast gives older exact amounts for morning NMN and resveratrol and corrects an on-air spermidine unit error. A July 2026 interview separately records current-status changes: intermittent berberine while pausing metformin, a nattokinase trial, and no longer taking taurine regularly. These are personal experiments, not longevity recommendations.
